Was on the road last week and noticed a local housing association carting a Monkey Tower (www.monkeytower.co.uk) around on the back of their maintenance van.

I started to have a look at the website, out of curiosity mainly, and it appears a great piece of kit.... set up takes 5 mins and there is no requirement for PASMA or IPAF ticket.

Potentially could be used (depending on hire costs etc.) on any asbestos surveys that require a considerable amount of sampling at height – amongst other things.

Anyone had any experience of using a Monkey Tower?

I must say that this is a new one to me.  Any idea what they cost to hire?  Also what training do you need, as Pasma is the recognised training body for the traditional mobile towers?

It looks very similar to the Pop-up and Pop-up Plus work platforms:

It looks like a good bit of kit doesn't it?
